Thingvellir National Park
Thingvellir National Park is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites and also one of the best geological wonders in Iceland. The place is 45 minutes drive from Reykjavik. Gullfoss waterfall is located in the Canyon of the Hvita river in southwest Iceland. It is one of the most popular tourist attraction and part of the Golden Circle. It is one of the beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. The waterfall is flowing down in two stages. One stage is 11 meters high and the second stage is 21 meters high and the water is cascading down into the 2.5-kilometre long crevasse below. Geysir is Iceland’s popular geyser located in the Haukadalur Valley. Geysir lies on the slopes of Laugarfjall hill which is also home to strokkur geyser which is 50 meters south. It is believed that Geysir came into existence in the 13th century when a series of strong earthquakes happen.
