Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

Darjeeling Himalayan Railway also referred to as DHR or toy train, which is 2 ft gauge which is built between 1879 and 1881, runs between Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling in West Bengal. The train runs daily during the high season.

Tiger hill

Tiger hill is situated at an altitude of 2590 meters and a distance of 13 kilometers away from Darjeeling town. It is famous for its wonderful sights of sunrise from where you can see the peaks of Kanchenjunga.

Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park

Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park more commonly known as Darjeeling zoo spans across area 67.5 acres at an average altitude of 7000 ft. The zoo has received the prestigious award “The earth Heros” in 2014 out of 300 zoos worldwide. The award was given because of protecting animals and plantations while specializing in breeding animals that used in Alpine conditions.

Botanical Garden Darjeeling

Darjeeling Botanical Garden is among the oldest botanical garden and also one of the most popular tourist places in Darjeeling. It was established in 1878 and the garden was named after William Lloyd, who is the provider of land. The main aim of the garden is to preserve native floral species of Darjeeling Himalayan hill, Sikkim, and its neighboring areas.

Ghoom Monastery

Ghoom Monastery is also known as Yiga Choeling Tibetan Monastery is one of the old Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries in Darjeeling, which is built in the year 1850. It has a large collection of Buddha’s manuscripts which includes 108 – volume Kangyur or the Tibetan Buddhist gospel. You can also find bells and huge drums inside.

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport & transfer to Gangtok (5,480 ft.). On arrival check-in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 02: Gangtok Local Sightseeing

Start for a Full day city tour covering Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok & Hanuman Tok, Ranka Monastery, Banjakhri Falls, Cottage Industry, Dro-Dul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology, Flower show and Handicraft Centre (maximum 6 hours). Overnight stay at Gangtok.

After breakfast start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 km one way from Gangtok city. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
(In case of Land slide or any other reason Tsomgo Lake is closed we will provide alternate sightseeing.)

Day 04: Gangtok - Pelling (120 Kms / 5 hrs)

This morning after breakfast transfer to Pelling (6,100 ft.). On arrival check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 05: Pelling Sightseeing

After breakfast start for a full day sightseeing. 1st Half tour - Darap village, Rimbi water Falls, Seward Rock Garden, Khecheopalri Lake & Khangchendzongha waterfalls. In the afternoon start for 2nd Half tour - Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdantse Ruins, New Helipad Ground. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 06: Pelling - Darjeeling (109 kms / 4 hrs)

This morning after breakfast transfer to Darjeeling (6,710 ft.). On arrival check-in to your hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 07: Darjeeling Sightseeing

Early Morning (at 04:00 am) drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak), on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 08: Darjeeling – NJP Rly Station / IXB airport (98 kms / 3 hrs)

After breakfast check out from the hotel on time and take the departure transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey.
